Polygraph examinations can provide you with the answers necessary to defend your client and clear an innocent person's name. In rape cases where one party is saying their sexual involvement was consensual and the female says she was raped, the polygraph is used to see who is lying. Defense attorneys will often times have their clients who are involved in serious criminal allegations take a test from a private examiner. If they pass the test, they will tell the police their client is willing to take a test from the police (knowing they will pass). If they don't pass, the results are never released and the defense attorney would handle the case accordingly.
